Hello and welcome to my website. I'm finally working in my newly established studio just south of Aitkin, Minnesota. Having spent the majority of my life in the Minnesota backwoods, I struggled to identify my passion during my early years. However, as with most artists, creativity always finds a way out.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, I landed a job with an advertising agency in Minneapolis, which not only allowed me to learn about design and production but also opened up opportunities for artistic expression.I moved into ownership of a small design shop in Brainerd MN. This grew into our region's first advertising agency. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach at our local college for six years before I launched our area's first lifestyle magazine. After the sale of the Lake Country Journal, I finally decided to pursue my deep desire to learn to paint.
To say I am blessed to have been able to chase my artistic muses on a professional basis would be an understatement. Though I have had a deep desire to learn to paint with oils, I could not commit the time or personal energy to it, as I always prioritized my family and businesses. Now, having the ability to invest time into self-learning the basics of this art, I am able to satisfy my personal interest in the process of painting, and style exploration.
All of my path as an artist has been self-taught; I will always be a work-in-progress. I paint for myself—for what gives me joy and keeps me engaged. My subject matter roams everywhere. And when others enjoy and purchase my work, it gives me a special satisfaction that these pieces have found a good home. Whether it's one of landscapes, portraits, pets, homes, cabins, or figurative (historic or contemporary), spending time at my easel is the best pressure-relief valve anyone could ask for.
If you would like to know more about my work, request a commission, or would like to purchase any of the paintings available here, don't hesitate to get in touch and start a conversation. I look forward to hearing from you!
I’d enjoy hearing from you if you are interested in making a purchase, have any questions, or would simply like to have discussion about this art, or ANY art, for that matter.
